Jereth Brennon Powell joined our family at 10:17 pm on Friday, October 15, 2010 shortly after we arrived at the hospital. After his birth the doctor identified several characteristics that indicated there was a probability that Jereth could have Down Syndrome. We had a karyotype done which came back positive for Trisome 21, the most common variation of Downs. He also has a hole between the ventricles of his heart, called a large ventricular septal defect.
