Looking Better

Jereth is looking better this morning. He is back down to 2 liters per minute of air flow and they are waiting for an open room to transfer him to the pediatrics floor.

The second RSV test came back negative, so they are pretty sure his breathing problems were caused by him aspirating some formula into his lungs when he spit up.

He has also had diarrhea the last two days and they have changed his formula to the traditional concentration of 20 Calories per ounce, thinking his system may be having trouble with the higher concentration he has had for the last 2+ months.

At first they thought the diarrhea was caused by an imbalance of the good and bad bugs in the gut, but the test for that came back negative, too.

The good news is that the doctor feels like he should be ready to go home by Monday or Tuesday. On Monday they will check with the cardiac surgeons to see how soon Jereth's surgery can be rescheduled. If they can get him into this week's schedule we'll stay here. If not, we'll try to get it scheduled for Emmett District's Spring Break, the last week of March.
