| Jereth's Gift from Santa |
The Boise Fire Department brought Santa Claus for an early visit to the pediatrics floor of St. Luke's hospital today. Jereth got a stuffed animal (I think it's a cat, but I can't be sure) from the big man himself, but I forgot to get the camera out until after Santa had already left.
When Santa and his helpers first arrived I had just finished giving Jereth a sponge-bath. They made a stop next door while I quickly got Jereth dressed. When Santa came back to our room, hospital public relations took pictures of Jereth receiving his present. Even though I was still in my night clothes, I was in the picture, too, because I was holding Jereth.
After the visit from Santa I realized I had tipped over the small bottle of baby wash and of course I had not put the lid back on it when I finished with Jereth's bath. It made just a little bit (OK, truthfully a lot) of a mess.
An assistant came in and changed the bedding while I held Jereth out of the way. After she left, Jereth became fussy so I looked for his pacifier. It had been in the bed, but was nowhere to be found. Other things that had been in the bed had been moved to the foot of the bed while the linens were changed, but the pacifier was not with them. It took going through the dirty bed linens twice before I finally found it, but find it I did, and Jereth has his Soothie again.
Surgery Update?
Dr. Walker is conferencing with the doctors in Utah to schedule Jereth's surgery, hopefully for this week or next. She is still waiting to hear back from Dr. Menon about the results his conversations with the surgeons. Dr. Walker said the surgery could be anywhere from later this week to sometime in January, but ideally she would like to have the surgery completed before Christmas.
